I am loving making these little flower brooches, such fun, and I can’t stop thinking of new ways in which they could be used! Think; hairclips, bag embellishments…

I am also loving discovering how easy it is to make fabric covered buttons! They look so much better than many of the buttons in my vast collection and it’s great how you can personalise them by using your favourite fabric!

Friends made…

Ilove the blogging community. I’ve made some fantastic “friends” and my daughter Bree has even made a little penpal with one of them – Marion’s daughter Barbie.

Today,we had a fantastic surprise when the courier van drove up just before we left for school. We wondered who would have sent something from the UK, and when we saw on the note it was from Barbie – Briahna was super excited. She loves Polly Pocket and is busy playing with her new toys as I type… :) Thanks so much Barbie!! Briahna loves the stamps and did a talk at school about her new little penfriend and what she got her for her birthday!!!

Busy, busy
I’m finally getting around to reading the Shack, after being recommended it by a couple of different sources. So far I’m enjoying the read. Next I hope to read Chocolat and then The Friday Night Knitting Club… Just as well I’ve got a few good books to read, as I’ve got a couple of doctor’s appointments coming up and will be spending a little bit of time in waiting rooms.

Talking of knitting clubs, tonight is craft group night again. Not sure what I’ll be making, but I do want to make some more flower brooches and a felt cover for my tape measure. We’re planning a little crafting retreat for next Saturday night and so that should be fun. Think four grown woman making pyjama’s and laughing/talking into the wee hours… :D Heaven to me!

Oh well, the laundry folding is calling me, as is dinner prep., so I better take my leave…

D.

I am LOVING these aprons made out of vintage teatowels that Curlypops has been making! I think I’m gonna have to get out some of my old vintage teatowels and make some for me too!!

My good friend, Jodz, never ceases to amaze me with her generosity and little kindnesses! Look at what she gave us all for Christmas!

cute little apron (handmade by Jodz) and a box of pancake mix
- I know what Hope is making us for breakie tomorrow!

Jodz knows just what to get for my girls… A Ben 10 pack for the Aimster!

A neat press-out model book for Bree – she wanted to make it straight away but unfortunately for her we got home after bedtime…

We’ve been friends ever since my autistic daughter and her aspie daughter found themselves in the same class five years ago.

Don’t think she forgot us either… She gave us a movie night pack, including microwave popcorn, reduced cream and onion soup (for the quintessential kiwi dip), potato chips and coke!! If you know us personally, you’d know that movie reviews etc are Mr Sew-Funky’s special interest, so it was a very apt gift!

But that is not all, oh no that is not all (sounding a little Dr.Seussish…). She popped in a little pressie just for me! A Bracelet (made from buttons, she knows me so well) and my favourite chocolates, Turkish Delights!!!

Thanks so much for these cool pressies, Jodz! You put my A Dark Knight DVD and non-descript chocolates to shame!

I especially like the apron she made for Hope, I spied it on her blog and had hoped wistfully that she’d made one for her! Thanks for all the thought that went into the gifts. I’ll really have to pull my finger out and plan better for next years Christmas… It just seemed to jump at me out of nowhere!

in a really good way, by the kindness of others. Little Miss Flossy of Another Day in Paradise surprised me with a wonderful package! Look what she sent, I’d entered her giveaway for the book “49 sensational skirts”. I didn’t win, but a few days later Miss Flossy left me a comment on my blog asking for my address, that she had something nice to send to me. Well, lookie, lookie!!!

All the wonderful goodies! The pillowcase in the top right hand corner is the exact same pattern that my parents had when I was small – what a neat coincidence. :)

And SURPRISE, look at what she included!:

Thanks so much Little Miss Flossy! You certainly added some sparkle to my day!!!
