SewFunky has limited internet access (thanks to the kids) and wasn’t able to take her camera with her to the Devonport Craft Market (thanks to the kids) so I decided to take a few quick photos with my cell phone. Unfortunately I was only there for set up and pack down so can’t really say much about the market, I’m just glad it all worked out in the end because the day started out bad (with a flat tyre) and didn’t improve until we arrived and discovered that SewFunky had a nice inside spot to occupy. Thanks to everyone who visited and brought stuff!

Wow, it’s July already!!!

Today my creative space is all about mending stuff…

I never used to be much of a clothes mender, I was more of a throw-away girl and now I find myself becoming more of a mend and make do girl…  Hmmm, funny how life does that to ya!

Congratulations to Linda Kimpton who won the New Moon DVD giveaway over on the sew-funky facebook page.  Make sure you’re a fan so that you’re the first to know when we’re having giveaways!!

Off to mend some more…

You may have noticed that I mentioned this a week or so ago.  Well, Mr Sew-Funky has come on board and designed us a little online blog promo!  Proving it’s not what you know, but who you… well, you know the rest!

If you’re around Auckland in the mid week of the school hol’s you’d be a fool to miss out on this one.

PS.  Don’t forget to enter my NewMoon DVD giveaway, it closes on Wednesday evening!

At my house today…

I’m giving away a copy of New Moon on DVD over on my facebook page – head on over to enter!

I’m folding copious amounts of laundry!  The washing monster has gotten way out of control over the weekend, maybe it’s something to do with trying to get the girls to tidy their bedrooms?!  Cripes!

And, I’m finishing up delivering AVON order’s for the last campaign!  If any of you are interested in getting your hot little hands on the next brochure, just flick me a comment below! :)

What are you up to on this fine Monday?  Join in on the fun here!

Proud!

This has been a hard week for me.  Tomorrow it will have been exactly a year since my mum passed away.  I’ve been thinking about her all week long – simply missing her! :(

During this time of mourning and sadness, my girls have been amazing.  I’ve been extremely lucky that the week has been extremely busy with all their doings, and so I’m not rocking in a corner about to be carted off.  It’s good to keep busy.

Tuesday was our busiest day.  I taught a group of ladies how to freezer paper stencil in the morning (so rewarding, and it looks like a couple of them have caught the “bug”!).  Aimee had a chess tournament all day, and in the evening Briahna was singing with the Pukekohe Kids for Kids choir at the town hall.  Busy, busy!

Aimee’s team came 2nd place overall!  Woohoo!

Briahna sings her heart out (excuse the fuzzy photo we were sitting near the back!)

Not to forget Hope who got 97% in her Japanese exam and was chosen to become a part of the gifted and talented program. :D

Yes, I have smart and talented children, and I’m so proud of them!

Tomorrow, we are having granny day at our house.  We will be eating KFC and pineapple lumps.  The kid’s remember her getting them KFC for dinner when they stayed at her place and pineapple lumps, because they were her favourite!  I’m thinking of getting everyone to tell/write something special they remember about her after dinner.  My dad will be coming over too.  It has been especially hard for him to lose his wife of almost 40 years.  God, it’s been hard on all of us!  :(

You may or may not know that I have an daughter on the autistic spectrum. She’s very high-functioning, and can get away with normal at times, but sometimes she is a major handful. If I’m honest all my children can be handfuls, not just the autistic one… But because of this, I sometimes just need to get away…

And so, after a year of no break – my friend Jodz and I finally managed to make it to what has become my favourite thing in the world – mother’s retreat weekend at Long Bay!

What fun we have, not a care in the world – two days of heaven! :)

I was going to do a great big photo montage about now, but my computer is acting very slow – and I’m feeling like having an afternoon lie-down which isn’t going to happen if I waste the whole arvo on here..  So I leave you with a neat picture we took after I finally figured how to take a picture with the timer:

Thanks Jodee for such a FAB weekend!  You rock!
